Things to do in Sri Lanka

The relatively small island formerly known as Ceylon has preserved history like no other. The 8 UNESCO World Heritage sites confirm that. Srilanka is heaven for beach lovers as it is encircled by some of the most stunning beaches. Srilanka’s wildlife sanctuaries, golden sandy beaches, rubber and tea plantations, and coconut palm trees are a good deal for your holiday package.

Colombo
The nation's capital city blends the vibrant indigenous histories of the nation with contemporary metropolitan comforts. A strip park along the Indian Ocean called Galle Face Green and  Gangaramaya Temple, which is renowned for its fusion of ethnic architectural forms are popular tourist destinations. The tallest free-standing structure in Southeast Asia, The Colombo Lotus Tower, a new mega-tower in the city, is a fantastic destination offering breathtaking views of the city. There are several museums and other attractions in the city that can expose you to Sri Lankan culture.
Kandy
The Central Highlands and its lush plantations are accessible from Kandy, Sri Lanka's second-largest city where you can discover and observe Sri Lankan history. The city situated in the center of Sri Lanka served as the country's previous royal capital as well. Visit the city's National Museum of Kandy, which uses exhibitions and relics to depict the history of Srilanka. A component of the Royal Palace, the temple of the Sacred tooth relic, a very revered Buddhist shrine is close by. While Kandy Lake provides a tranquil haven and the woodland park known as the Udawatta Kele Sanctuary, is an excellent natural reserve.
Galle
Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a completely walled town that has been restored and is currently home to a variety of boutique hotels, restaurants, and stores. The fort situated on a promontory with a view of the Indian Ocean is renowned for its architectural design. Other notable attractions include a natural harbor, a maritime museum, Sri Lanka's oldest lighthouse, a significant Shiva temple, and the St. Mary's Cathedral. In addition to the fort, the city is encircled by some expansive spectacular sand beaches that extend into blue, clear water.
Polonnaruwa
Polonnaruwa is a place where beauty complements "ruins"! The ruins of this ancient garden city, the second-oldest kingdom in Sri Lanka, and another of the nation's World Heritage Sites are popular tourist destinations. The majority of the buildings are in ruins, but the garden city has been totally preserved with gardens, magnificent palaces, and tranquil temples. Additionally, a sizable troop of macaque monkeys calls the remains home, making for an unusual experience while exploring the ruins. Other must-sees include the enormous Royal Palace with its well-preserved audience hall, the Archaeological Museum, and the gorgeously designed Sacred Quadrangle.
