Drive from Nairobi to the Aberdares, a beautiful mountain range in the central highlands of Kenya. Drive north passing near Thika which boasts the world’s third largest pineapple plantation and is home to Del Monte. Aberdares has high mountains, dense rain forest, and thickets of bamboo, rushing rivers, cascading waterfalls, abundant birdlife, rare monkeys, and the opportunity to spot elephants, leopards, and lions sipping water from a forest waterhole from a vantage-point high in the forest. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants.

Spend the day in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy – East Africa’s largest sanctuary for the black rhino, chimpanzees and home to the last two Northern White rhinos on planet Earth. Venture out there for high altitude adapted plains game, unique montane and alpine vegetation with 11 species of endemic plants. On game drives you may have close encounters with elephants, wild dog, lion, hyena, buffalo, cheetah, rhino, tree hyrax, white tailed mongoose, suni, black fronted duiker, mole rat, bushbucks, water buck, elands, and all the plains herbivores. Animals rarely seen include leopard, bongo, giant forest hog and rhino.
