Day-to-day itinerary

Welcome to your Citibond ‘Kenya Safari with Mombasa Stay’ tour!

On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, an English representative will greet you after immigration and customs, then you travel west through Kenya’s fertile highlands, where rolling tea and coffee estates abound. Then suddenly to your left, the trees part to reveal a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley, with dormant Longonot volcano taking centre stage. Your panoramic journey will then take you past Lake Naivasha, with its Crescent Island and onto Lake Nakuru. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Lunch & Dinner

Following an early morning breakfast, leave the flamingo-fringed Lake Nakuru behind and head for Njoro town, where you begin your ascent up over the top of the Mau Escarpment; then, heading due south, travel towards Narok, the gateway to the Masai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Maasai land. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the camp as the sun sets. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Breakfast & Dinner

The next 2 days will be spent exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara, starting early with a game drive before breakfast, and returning to the camp for meals. This reserve is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black-maned males. You’ll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as, if you’re lucky, leopard, cheetah, and rhino. All the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. It is also home to the nomadic Maasai people, who can be see grazing their cattle, usually brightly dressed in red chequered capes. All meals and overnight at Game Camp.

Breakfast & Dinner

After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasai land. Once in the city, clients will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta airport for their onward flight to Mombasa. On arrival in Mombasa, clients will be transferred to designated hotel where guest will spend the next 5 days at leisure. Daily breakfast and dinners at the hotel.

Breakfast & Dinner

After breakfast, good times never end! As you get ready for the airport and your flight back home, relive the high points of your ‘Citibond Kenya Safari with Mombasa Stay tour. We are confident you will join us again, sometime soon.

Things to do

Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly at the top of every tourist’s bucket list as it’s a major tourist attraction in Kenya. Due to its relatively significant populations of cheetahs, leopards, and lions, the park is also renowned for offering exceptional predator sightings. The Great Migration is that notable feature of Kenya that no one can neglect. Tens of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson's gazelles move toward and away from the Serengeti during the Great Migration, which takes place in the park from July to October. Moreover, numerous hippos and crocodiles lurk in the Mara River.
Amboseli National Park
One of Kenya's best-known tourist destinations is Amboseli National Reserve, which is surrounded by Mount Kilimanjaro. The park is renowned for being the ideal destination in Africa to come up close to herds of elephants that are roaming freely. The Amboseli National Park is a great way to know and interact with the locals and specifically the Maasai tribes. Also, your holiday trip couldn’t be completed without stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, so head over to Amboseli National Park to admire God’s creation. Furthermore, nature enthusiasts can explore five distinct habitats, including the dried-up Lake Amboseli bed, wetlands with sulfur springs, savannah, and forests.
Lamu Island
The oldest continuously inhabited village in Kenya is Lamu Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lamu Old Town has preserved all the beauty and character that have been cultivated through the years. On Lamu Island, there are only alleyways and pathways; and no highways. Stroll the maze-like streets and admire the beauty which is difficult to do in bustling modern cities. The Lamu Museum and Fort exhibiting Swahili culture with an amazing depiction of the maritime history of the Islan, along with the Donkey Sanctuary are among the island's top attractions. Visiting these places is like traveling back in time as there aren't many motorized vehicles on the island, and donkeys still dominate the streets as they have for decades, which is a rare sight in the modern era.
Lake Nakuru
Large flocks of pink flamingos can be seen in Lake Nakuru National Park in Central Kenya. When we talk about Kenya’s top tourist attractions, Pink Flamingos take the cake. The park features the largest Euphorbia candelabrum forest in Africa and these indigenous, tall, branching succulents provide the dry landscapes a striking textural aspect.
